with a Greek dance piece. In addition to this, we will also work on

4 different pieces, ranging from classical to modern.

General Information

The Orchestra invites everyone who plays a string or wind instrument to join! The Orchestra Committee was founded in 2004. It is a small Orchestra using ad-hoc instrumentation to play a widely varied repertoire of pieces. Previously played works include Saint-Saëns Danse Macabre, and Ronan Hardiman’s Lord of the Dance. The Orchestra welcomes both beginning and experienced players. Rehearsing for two hours every week, the Orchestra members work hard -in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere- to prepare for returning events such as the Classical Campus Concert. The Orchestra functions as a forum for musicians on campus, and means to provide a fun experience to its members, as well as a valuable contribution to the UC community. If you would like to experience playing in an Orchestra, or if you think you can contribute to our sound, you are very welcome to sit in and listen –or better yet; to sit in and play along!
