Visiting UCU using Public Transport

From Schiphol Airport

The best way to travel from Schiphol Airport to Utrecht is by train. Tickets can be purchased from the ticket office or vending machines at Schiphol station. Please be advised that in the Netherlands return tickets are valid for one day only. As of August ‘08, tickets cost €7,60 (2nd class). Twice hourly, a direct train runs between Schiphol and Utrecht. Utrecht Centraal is the 3rd stop, and the trip lasts 33 minutes. This service will be expanded to four trains an hour in 2009.

Other international connections

Eurolines runs scheduled international bus lines that stop in Utrecht. If you’re coming from continental Europe, this may well be the cheapest option to go to campus.

From Utrecht Central Station to UCU

From the railway station, take city bus 4, direction Fockema Andrealaan. Get off at the Prins Hendriklaan bus stop, follow the Prins Hendriklaan in the direction of the underpass, shortly after which you will see the entrance to the University College campus on your right.

Visiting UCU by car

Note that all cars must enter the University College Utrecht campus via the entrance on the Kromhoutweg. When facing the big gate (which is closed to cars), this entrance is about 20 metres to the left.

• From Amsterdam (A2): Take the A12 direction Arnhem. At highway junction ‘knooppunt Oudenrijn’ take exit ‘Ring Utrecht Zuid’. Take exit nr. 18 (Houten). At the roundabout, turn left direction ‘Lunetten’ (Waterlinieweg). Take the exit Centrum/Stadion, and turn right at the traffic light. At the fork in the road, take a left. Take another left at the traffic light, left again into the Sophocleslaan, and after approximately 300 meters you will see the entrance to the University College campus.
• From Rotterdam/Den Haag (A12): At highway junction ‘knooppunt Oudenrijn’ take exit ‘Ring Utrecht Zuid’. Take exit nr. 18 (Houten). At the roundabout, turn left direction ‘Lunetten’ (Waterlinieweg). Take the exit Centrum/Stadion, and turn right at the traffic light. At the fork in the road, take a left. Take another left at the traffic light, left again into the Sophocleslaan, and after approximately 300 meters you will see the entrance to the University College campus.
• From Breda (A27): On the A27, take the A12 direction ‘Ring Utrecht Zuid/Den Haag’ . Right away take exit 18 (Houten). At the roundabout, turn right direction Lunetten (Waterlinieweg). Take the exit Centrum/Stadion, and turn right at the traffic light. At the fork in the road, take a left. Take another left at the traffic light, left again into the Sophocleslaan, and after approximately 300 meters you will see the entrance to the University College campus.
• From Hilversum (A27) and from Amersfoort (A28): Take exit ‘Rijnsweerd’, then turn left at the traffic lights (Direction Centrum/Stadion, this is the Waterlinieweg). Take the exit ‘Stadion’ , and turn left at the traffic light. Take the middle lane to go straight ahead at the next traffic light. At the fork in the road, take a left. Take another left at the traffic light, left again into the Sophocleslaan, and after approximately 300 meters you will see the entrance to the University College campus.
