The Capoeira Committee is a young committee that is dedicated to bring capoeira and her Brazilian culture and traditions to the campus of University College Utrecht. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian sport that combines martial-arts, dance, music and acrobatics.

Every week, Thursday 19:30-21:30, there will be classes given by a teacher of the Batuque Capoeira group. During these classes one will learn the basic movements and music of the capoeira game, whilst building strength, balance and confidence. Capoeira is a sport that is very open to other cultures and can be practiced by persons of any age and body type. Therefore, everybody with or without sport experience is invited to drop by and participate!

Besides weekly classes, this committee will organize a Brazilian party, a movie night and music and dance (samba, maculele) workshops.
